CA CSM ACCEPT PTF error GIM37905E SYSMOD SUPERSEDED

Issue/Introduction

In CA CSM (MSM)  performing an SMP/E ACCEPT on some PTFs fails with error:

GIM37905E      1   SYSMOD RO98683 IS SUPERSEDED BY SYSMOD SO10748 IN TARGET ZONE CAIT0, AND  
                                      THEREFORE MUST BE SUPERSEDED DURING ACCEPT PROCESSING.

Cause

The error indicates SMP/E is trying to ACCEPT a PTF that is superseded but for some reason cannot ACCEPT the superseding PTF. There may be other errors to indicate the reason.

 

Resolution

If there are PE PTFs (PTFs in Error) being ACCEPTed then the GROUPEXTEND option needs to be used.

In addition, if there are any HOLDs in the PTFs being ACCEPTed the BYPASS option needs to be used.

So to resolve the problem, perform  an ACCEPT with GROUPEXTEND and enter the following on the Bypass HOLDDATA screen:
