Issue/Introduction

When running the CATVMFV we are receiving the following errors.

CAT6205W

VSN=volser VOLCNT=999 VSN=volser VOLCNT=999 CHAINED VOLUMES VOLCNT SHOULD BE EQUAL

Cause

The volume count for the volume series was beyond 255.

Resolution

There is a limit of 255 volumes on a single output series within TLMS. This will create a chaining error due to the number of output tapes. Once the volume series is available to be scratched, you will need to update each volume with the following command using PROC CATINQR:

UPV volser,EXPDT=60001

This will break and clear the chaining error.
