Financial Budget Reports Header, Footer or Totals Truncated

Issue/Introduction

Financial Budget Reports header, footer, and / or totals incomplete / cut off

Reports impacted:

  • Financial Budget vs. Forecast by Period
  • Financial Budget vs. Forecast by Period Detail

Symptoms that may be seen:

  • Header for first period is truncated
  • Footer with date gets truncated (May be cut off and replaced with a ...)
  • Grant totals in the Financial Budget vs. Forecast by Period report can get cut off if the total equals 9 or more digits (last few digits may be replaced with 3 dots).

STEPS TO REPRODUCE: 

  1. Go to Administration -> Finance -> Setup -> Organizational Structure -> Entities
  2. Select “Corporate”
  3. Select “Fiscal Time Periods”
  4. Go through 2020 monthly and update the “Period Name" accordingly
  • Jan 1, 2020 - Jan 31, 2020
  • Feb 1, 2020 - Feb 29, 2020
  • Mar 1, 2020 - Mar 31, 2020
  • Apr 1, 2020 - Apr 30, 2020
  • May 1, 2020 - May 31, 2020
  • Jun 1, 2020 - Jun 30, 2020
  • Jul 1, 2020 - Jul 31, 2020
  • Aug 1, 2020 - Aug 31, 2020
  • Sep 1, 2020 - Sep 30, 2020
  • Oct 1, 2020 - Oct 31, 2020
  • Nov 1, 2020 - Nov 30, 2020
  • Dec 1, 2020 - Dec 31, 2020

Run the following jobs:

  • Datamart Extraction
  • Datamart Rollup - Time Facts and Time Summary
  • Load Data Warehouse (FULL)
  • Update Report Tables (select all parameters)

Run the following reports:

  • Financial Budget vs. Forecast by Period
  • Financial Budget vs. Forecast by Period Detail

Expected Results: 

  • Reports with complete headers according to the “Period Name”.

Actual Results:

  • The first column (January) is incomplete. Somehow it is truncated

Additional info:

There is another small cosmetic issue in the report footer when exporting the report output to pdf, pptx.

Its adding three dots and below expression is used
<textFieldExpression><![CDATA[$R{DateKey} + ":  " + $V{vToday}]]></textFieldExpression>

Cause

This issue is caused by: DE57427

Environment

  • Versions impacted: Clarity 15.8, 15.8.1, 15.9
  • Component: Clarity Jaspersoft Reports

Resolution

This issue is fixed in 15.9.1

Workaround: As a workaround for the header issue: use shorter period names.
