Issue/Introduction

When using bop_cmd command to update a workflow task status where there is a workflow group in the workflow, the following error is reported:

 boplgin             11675 ERROR        bplaccess.c           6259 register_session_user failed; cannot find session with id <SESSION_ID> and userid <USERNAME>

One of the workflow tasks in the group is not completing due to this error.

When the update of the workflow task status is done manually , the error is not reproduced.

This has never worked previously.

Environment

All Versions of Service Desk Manager

Cause

This is a timing issue related to a session being held by bop_logging

Resolution

The option NX_SESSION_OBJECT_DELETE_DELAY can help resolve this.

This option controls how long a session is kept in bop_logging after being marked as deleted/logged out

This is a very sensitive option. Please open a case with Broadcom Support if you wish to implement this setting.

This setting will need to be applied and monitored with a Technical Support Engineer due to the sensitivity.

To configure this option, please execute the following command:

pdm_options_mgr -c -s NX_SESSION_OBJECT_DELETE_DELAY -v 120 -a pdm_option.inst -t

By default this is configured to 120 seconds.

This will add the following line to NX.env:

@NX_SESSION_OBJECT_DELETE_DELAY=120
