Question about action item and IBM PTF for Netmaster PTF SO04853

Issue/Introduction

While installing Netmaster for TCPIP v12.2 there is an action item that says 

Delay application until IBM PTF UI54795, UI54800 or UI54801 is        
installed, otherwise the following message is issued when using the   
USS command -                                                         
 FSUM7725 history: EDC5000I No error occurred. 

The question I have is - are these for z/OS 2.3 or z/OS 2.4? 
Can I exclude the CA PTF SO04853 which has the hold action above if the IBM ptf's are not applied?

Resolution

The actual IBM APAR containing the fixes noted in SO04853 is PI92603. It appears to be for z/OS 2.3 and prior releases.

PI92603: OMVS SHELL EXPORT HISTFILE /DEV/NULL CAUSING EDC5000I NO ERROR OCCURRED.

This APAR is from 2018.


We recommend against excluding SO04853, as it is a direct PRE for several subsequent PTFS that update USS handling, and you want to be current in that area.
