Issue/Introduction

VIP Enterprise Gateway shows two LDAP sync services in the Windows Services Console 

Resolution

The Symantec Ldap DirSync Service is used by the VIP Enterprise Gateway LDAP Sync service for scheduled automatic synchronizations or when a Synchronize Now is performed while the Service Status is On. The Windows Service  Console shows the Startup Type as 'automatic' when the Service Status in the VIP Console is on, and 'manual' when the Service Status in the VIP Console is off.

The Symantec Ldap Service or Symantec LDAP Sync Simulation Service is used by the VIP Enterprise Gateway during an LDAP synchronization simulation. The Windows Service Console shows the Startup Type as 'manual' when a simulation is not in progress, and 'automatic' when a simulation is running. (When performing a manual simulation, press 'stop simulation' after the job is complete). 

The Symantec LDAP RunOne Service is used when a Synchronize Now is performed when the Service Status is Off. This service disappears when the job is complete.
