The "Severity: unknown" alerts that we are receiving from APM have the description in the subject line instead of the alert name.
It is not the content that this is the concern, It is what is NOT in the subject line. We are seeing the alert name, not the alert description.
Per engineering That is the current alert email format:
- Subject line stays same even for "unknown" notifications.
- "Unknown" notification is to inform the data to evaluate the alert is not available. it's not related to alert threshold/condition or previous alert status.
Therefore, "Unknown" Severity is for Information only, can be ignored. The alert type indicates that.
