Issue/Introduction

We are planning to upgrade the Clarity database server to a more recent version.  It will be a new server and a new hostname. What is the configuration update we should make in Clarity and Jaspersoft to make sure the new database server is used?

Environment

Release : All Supported Clarity releases

Resolution

  1. Ensure the Clarity services and Jaspersoft are stopped before the migration
  2. Once migration is done, correct the db URL in the properties.xml for Clarity
  3. Ensure you recreate the DBLINK and also correct the properties.xml if it's with a different name
  4. Now correct the database connection in the context.xml for Jaspersoft
  5. Bring both Clarity and Jaspersoft up and running.
  6. Ensure you are able to safely connect to Clarity
  7. Now run the SyncPPMContext command from Clarity server, this will update the Jaspersoft connection details on jasperadmin user
  8. Now try running the Load Data Warehouse jobs and reports, and ensure everything is working as expected
  9. Any custom datasources and reports with direct connection will have to be corrected too by your developers.
