Issue/Introduction

Customer has a working EEM, can login to that as eiamadmin too.  It is on the same machine as Autosys r12 that he is trying to install. Upon provide EEM server details and test, it gives an error

Errors occurred during the CA EEM server connection test. Make sure that the server is active and that the connection information is specified correctly.

ispUtil::TcpAddress getaddrinfo returned error System error

isUtil::TcpName getnameinfo returned error, error code= ai_family not supported

Cause

EEM server name could not be resolved properly via resolve.conf / hosts file

Environment

Release : 11.3.6

Component : CA Workload Automation AE (AutoSys)

Resolution

Update /etc/hosts file with appropriate EEM server / IP address and retry installer
