Issue/Introduction

Display Terminals (D T) in TPXOPER is showing a large number of VTs as INACTIVE. Is there any reason to be concerned that we will run out of defined VTs for new sessions?

  • INACTIVE means the virtual terminal is currently opened by TPX, but there are no active sessions to application on it.
  • NEVACT means the virtual terminal is currently NOT opened by TPX.
  • ACTIVE means the virtual terminal is opened by TPX and there is at least one active session on it.

Inactive VTs can be used for new sessions.

The only time to be concerned would be if they were in an unavailable status, then they could not be used for new sessions.
