Security File Health Check Using The Top Secret TSSFAR Utility

Issue/Introduction

With performing a Security health check on our Security database, what options under TSSFAR should be specified? And with SFSTATS, what output lines should be reviewed?

Component : CA Top Secret for z/OS

Resolution

Use the following TSSFAR options:

ARLBMAP
ALLOC
ACIDCHAN
ACIDLINK
RESINDEX
ACIDRES
RESOURCE
SFSTATS

With SFSTATS pay attention to the following:

ACID blocks allocated and ACID blocks used

Volume entries allocated and % Used

PIE blocks allocated and % Used

RES blocks allocated and % Used

SDT blocks allocated and % Used

If any of these segments are close to 100% used, consider allocating a new security file and increasing the size of that segment.
