Rally Sync job error HTTP/1.1 520 Origin Error

Clarity PPM SaaS Clarity PPM On Premise

Issue/Introduction

  • We see the job completed, but there is a warning related to one project not able to be synced due to a 520 error.
  • Error from job log (From Clarity Reports and Jobs) below:

There was a problem while syncing the project team for project:Optum OTC

Agile Central API Error : RestAPI Connection is not set properly. Check Authorization key, Error: java.io.IOException: HTTP/1.1 520 Origin Error

  • In the bg-ca.logs, we also see: 

ERROR 2020-07-13 12:56:29,610 [Dispatch Synchronize Agile Central : [email protected]<server)(tenant=clarity)] ppm.agl (clarity:admin:zzzzzzzzzzzz:Synchronize Agile Central)

java.io.IOException: Agile Central API Error : RestAPI Connection is not set properly. Check Authorization key, Error: java.io.IOException: HTTP/1.1 520 Origin Error

               at com.ca.ppm.rally.service.BaseService.validateContext(BaseService.java:99)

               at com.ca.ppm.rally.service.PortfolioItemService.get(PortfolioItemService.java:59)

Resolution

  • If the job runs successfully in the next run, this failure can be ignored.
  • From the bg-ca.logs, it indicates that while there is a temporary issue for the one project, the job does continue and update further projects.
