nexec error in the IM GUI - The probe is not running

Issue/Introduction

nexec probe is not running on one of the Windows Servers. The GUI windows displays "The probe is not running"

Cause

- local firewall

Environment

Release : 9.2.0

Component : UIM - NEXEC

Resolution

To test the connectivity of the hub/robot:

   1. telnet FROM the robot TO the hub on port 48002

   2. telnet FROM the hub TO the robot on port 48000

Also check the Event Viewer to see if there are any errors/info in the Application/System log related to anti-virus/blocking.

Check if the local local firewall is disabled and/or does it have an exception for ALL Nimsoft programs?  This issue with the probes not displaying any data could be due to Azure related security if the hub/robot is in the Azure cloud.

In this case, the issue with nexec and other probes being unable to display any data was due to Azure Security. At the Local Firewall, only the controller.exe program was allowed with port 48000 – 48020, then the customer had to Allow other programs as well.
