Issue/Introduction

Looking at the message object scan times in the Messaging Gateway (SMG) Message Audit Logs it appears that limit on Threat Defense Scanning is being exceeded:

Cause

In some instances the Message Audit Logs may present the time of the next scheduled resubmission time for pending Threat Defense objects even if the Threat Defense verdict for that message object has already been returned by Threat Defense. This usually occurs in the rare case where message content decomposition takes longer than the Threat Defense scan time.

Resolution

This issue has been addressed in SMG 10.7 releases following improvements to the SMG Malware and message decomposition engines.
