Default Blueprint not used when converting an Idea to Project, and both Idea and Project have default Blueprints set up

Issue/Introduction

STEPS TO REPRODUCE (15.7.1)

  1. Connect to a system with multiple blueprints or create two new blueprints for Project and Idea (i.e. Test1 and Test Idea 1
  2. Connect to Clarity - Administration - Objects - Project
  3. Go to Attributes - Blueprint
  4. Set the default Blueprint to Test1
  5. Save
  6. Now go to Administration - Objects - Idea - Attributes
  7. Make sure that Blueprint is not set
  8. Now create a new Idea, ensure in settings that Open for Time Entry is not checked and it's set to Financial status = Hold
  9. Submit for Approval - Approve
  10. Now Convert to Project
  11. Check the Project in Project list and note that the default Blueprint is selected correctly as expected
  12. Now go to Administration - Objects - Idea - Attributes
  13. Set a default for the Idea Blueprint attribute, save
  14. Now create a new Idea, ensure in settings that Open for Time Entry is not checked and it's set to Financial status = Hold
  15. Submit for Approval - Approve
  16. Now Convert to Project

 

Expected Results: The default Project Blueprint to be selected

Actual Results: No Blueprint is selected for the resulting project

Resolution

The issue does not occur if Open for Time Entry is enabled and Financial Status set to Open.

This issue is not reproducible in 15.8.1

 

Steps on 15.8.1, work as expected

  1. Connect to a system with multiple blueprints or create two new blueprints for Project and Idea (i.e. Test1 and Test Idea 1
  2. Ensure you modify the project blueprint, i.e. add Blueprint to Details
  3. Connect to New UX - Administration - Blueprints and set the blueprint to default
  4. In Classic create a new Idea, ensure in settings that Open for Time Entry is not checked and it's set to Financial status = Hold
  5. Submit for Approval - Approve
  6. Now Convert to Project
  7. Check the Project and note that the default Blueprint is selected correctly as expected

 

 

Additional Information

Note: In 15.8.1 it is no longer possible to set default Blueprint from Clarity - Objects in Studio, they can only be set in New UX. The change was made to avoid mismatching values
