Spectrum NCM task doesn´t get applied to Global Collection in a DSS Environment

Issue/Introduction

When we create a NCM task from a Global Collection in a DSS Environment and try to run an NCM task, it fails and in the failed device list the name of the Global Collection appears and not the devices.  The error message that we see is SPC-OCC-11543: Device Model Destroyed.

Cause

Current bug in the software if an NCM task that is made on a Global Collection includes models on the MLS.

Environment

Release : 10.4.x

Component : Spectrum APP  / Network Configuration Manager (NCM)

Resolution

Engineering has provided a valid workaround.

If we go to the Global Collections from the Navigation Window, and select the Global Collection from the Contents Window and then create a new NCM Task that is reusable, then the task will succeed.

 

The fix for this is scheduled to be fixed in BMP 1 for 10.4..2, until then you can use the workaround above.  This is being tracked internally as DE469582.
