CA Telon: IEW2606S error when applying PTF SO12835 for COBOL v6.2 and CICS v5.5

Issue/Introduction

Attempting to apply the PTFs for COBOL for z/OS V6.2 and CICS V5.5 and getting the following link-edit error when attempting to apply SO12835: 

GIM23901E ** LINK-EDIT PROCESSING FOR SYSMOD SO12835 FAILED FOR MODULE TRCPCCVA IN LMOD TRCPCCVA IN THE CAWLLODT       
             LIBRARY. THE RETURN CODE (12) EXCEEDED THE ALLOWABLE VALUE. DATE 20.205 - TIME 11:30:59 - SEQUENCE NUMBER 
             000666.                                                                                

The error for this linkedit is: 

IEW2606S 4B39 MODULE INCORPORATES VERSION 3 PROGRAM OBJECT FEATURES AND CANNOT BE SAVED IN LOAD MODULE FORMAT.  

  

 

Environment

CA Telon Application Generator, release 5.1

Resolution

After substantially increasing the size and directory block space of the SMPWRK DDDEFs, the following IEW2606S error still occurs:

IEW2606S 4B39 MODULE INCORPORATES VERSION 3 PROGRAM OBJECT FEATURES AND CANNOT BE SAVED IN LOAD MODULE FORMAT. 

The solution is to also convert the CAWLLODT and CAWWLOAD datasets to PDSe before the new maintenance including SO12835 can be applied.

After doing so, all of the PTFs for COBOL v6.2 and CICS v5.5 will apply successfully.
