Will the ENQ parameter of the TMSPTRS utility impact tape processing? 

Resolution

When the ENQ parameter of the TMSPTRS utility is specified, the active TMC is RESERVEd for the duration of the copy operation.  This copy operation is simply the copying of a sequential data set to another sequential data set. To estimate the amount of time needed for this processing, a user can either review recent TMSCOPY execution times, or else run an IEBGENER job to copy the TMC to another sequential output data set.  The time used in either job will be a good approximation of how long the TMC RESERVE in TMSPTRS processing is active.
