This article list the process to perform a Database Forward Recovery for CA 7 in release 12.0 and after. It assume you are performing a Hot Backup using AL2DBHOT.

Release : 12.0

Release : 12.1

Component : CA-7

AL2DBHOT is used to perform a fuzzy or "hot" backup of the database.  If you are doing hot backups you must run a forward recovery if the backup is restored.  See member AL2DBREC for example recovery JCL.  The job that restores the backup is  'AL2DLOAD'.  AL2DLOAD can be used to restore either kind of backup.   You would need to specify the correct backup data set name.  Control cards are not necessary.
