EVENT CAPTURE RETENTION PERIOD / EXPIRATION DATE

Issue/Introduction

How do I change the RETENTION PERIOD / EXPIRATION DATE for a specific event?  I want to keep 90 days worth of these captures.

Environment

Release : 16.0

Component : SYSVIEW

Resolution

update the CAPPARMS statement on the Event Capture to alter the default RETAIN parameter to 90.

I.E.

CONTROL NOFLUSH
CAPPARMS DESCR c'Storage ....
CAPPARMS RETAIN 90
ETC.....

You may need to reload the member if it is in LIBCACHE.
Commands:
LIBCACHE
F STGSUMM
If found put REL into the Cmd area next to the member to RELOAD.

The next execution of the STGSUMM Event Capture should show the new ExpDate in the output of the CAPLIST command.
