Unable to start app services and nsa service, error Address already in use (Bind failed)

Issue/Introduction

In app-system and nsa-system log we see the errors:

Environment

Release : All Supported Clarity releases

Component : CA PPM INTEGRATIONS & INSTALLATIONS

Resolution

The services that fail have some ports that are already in use.

 

Please review and change the rmiPort in the properties.xml for all three services for which the port is already in use. You can set them to something different, for example: 24700, 24701, 24702, just make sure those ports are open and not in use.

Then stop, deploy and start the services.

Additional Information

Note: this can happen on any other ports in the configuration, check the app-system logs to see which port is failing, then compare to properties.xml to see which one has to be changed.
