Issue/Introduction

I need to create synthetic data for claim( EDI 837 format). There are 300+ table, where data is generated and converted to EDI file format using GT-EDI.

A group of tables needs to be repeated in EDI file format i.e where loop > 1. For eg . suppose I have 5 tables N1,LX,SV,DTP,IEA with repeat count(loop) as 1,2,2,2,1.

N1*start of file value~
LX*1~
SV*service code_1~
DTP*service date~
LX*2~
SV*service code_2~
DTP*service date~
IEA*end of file value*~

How can I create data for such scenario in Datamaker and import published data into EDI format using GT-EDI in above pattern?

Resolution

The Product development team confirmed that TDM is not designed to handle 'many to many' relationships across parent to child to grandchild. What you are asking can be done, but would take work. The important thing is to ensure a number of rows from a child are linked to one parent row, and another set of rows from a child are linked to another parent row.

If you cannot come up with your own solution, we recommend considering a possible "Services" engagement or submitting this as an Enhancement request to be added as a feature to a future release of the product.
