Issue/Introduction

We experienced some issues with scheduled maintenance windows created in the Spectrum OneClick console. Last week we just created new one, with 80 servers, scheduled for the weekend patching. But we were surprised when we checked before that patching starts, that most of the servers somehow disappeared (ex. maintenance only showed 24 from 80). Do you know why we had this particular behavior? No one deleted them manually.

Cause

- Model synced as UIM Virtual Machine in Spectrum
- Later the same model synced as UIM HOST
- Then later, it was UIM HOST in Spectrum
- But 2 different CSID’s were set for 2 attributes i.e. VirtualEnityUniqueID (for and VM) Nimsoft_Enity_ID (for Host). This was causing the issue.

Environment

Release : 10.3.2 and up

Component : UIM MAINTENANCE MODE; SPECTRUM Maintenance Mode; UIM to Spectrum sync via SpectrumGTW probe

Resolution

Set an empty value for the attribute “VirtualEntityUniqueID” in Spectrum, since latest is UIM HOST.

Do that for 2 or 3 problematic servers and restart the spectrumgtw or wait for the next sync and verify the behavior, it should not be removed from the maintenance mode schedule.

Set the same for 2 or 3 problematic servers and restart the spectrumgtw or wait for the next sync and verify the behavior, and it should not be deleted from the Maintenance.

Apply the same solution/change for all problematic servers.
