How to create an external connection in Clarity for lookups

Issue/Introduction

We would like to create a custom database connection to an external database we use for reporting, how can we proceed?

Environment

Release : All supported Clarity releases

Component : 

Resolution

Follow these steps:

1. Log in to CSA, and from Home, click Servers.
2. Click the Properties icon of the server you want to configure.
3. Click the Database sub tab.
4. In the Internal Connection: Niku section, click New External Connection.
5. Complete the appropriate properties for your external database
6. Save the changes.
7. Restart the services

Once done, you should be able to create dynamic lookups to your database
