Issue/Introduction

We would like to automate the start, stop and monitoring for task  ESMPROC using SSM (OPS/MVS System State Manager). 

At this time I do no see any messages that are issued by the ESMPROC task that allows for 
OPS/MVS to monitor or  automate the start-up and shutdown of this task.

Is there a parameter or setting to have ESMPROC to perform this ?

It would be best if ESMPROC utilized the OPS/MVS SSM API interface to communicate state changes like other Common Services tasks (like ZMSSTART which issues API messages like..


Cause

OPS/MVS to monitor or  automate the start-up and shutdown of this task.

Environment

CA COMMON SERVICES Release : 14.1

Component : CCS MESSAGE SERVICE

Resolution

There is no parm or setting to 'write an OPSMVS rule against' for automation.

Log in to the MVS console.

Before you start ESM Microservice, ensure that z/OS UNIX System Services (OMVS address space) is fully initialized on the system.

You can write an OPSMVS rule against
