Description:
When the MOM is in an environment with a number of Collectors and specific Collectors are on a system with more than one network interface, the MOM may respond slowly and eventually appear to hang.
Solution:
When a Collector is on a system with multiple network interfaces and one of the interfaces has problems communicating with the network, the Collector may have problems communicating with the MOM.
When a Collector has problems communicating with the MOM, the MOM may become unresponsive and eventually appear to hang.
Network interface issues on a Collector may cause pings to be rerouted. Rerouting will increase the load on the MOM.
To mitigate this type of problem, check to be sure that all network interfaces on Collector systems are open and that communications can flow with no network problems.
To determine if this is the issue, disable the problematic interface as a test, and see if this resolves the issue.
