Issue/Introduction

Modern / New UX: User without the API - Access permission is getting API-1029 : Authentication Error after timeout

STEPS TO REPRODUCE: (Reproducible only on some environments) 

  1. Create a basic user. Do not provide API access. Just give access to Project/Idea View and Timesheet basic rights
  2. Connect to New UX
  3. Let the New UX timeout
  4. Come back and click anywhere
  5. On Login screen reenter credentials

Expected Results: To be able to connect successfully

Actual Results: API-1029 : Authentication Error. If we directly login to the new UX, it is fine.

Note: Able to reproduce even with admin user if the API access is not there. 

Environment

Release : 15.7.1, 15.8, 15.8.1, 15.9

Component : CA PPM USERS, GROUPS, OBS ADMINISTRATION

Cause

Caused by a stale cookie (DE56355)

Resolution

API - Access should NOT be required for every user in Modern UX per design

This is DE56355, fixed in 15.9.1 and patch 15.9.0.1

Workaround: Reload the page to log in, or provide API Access right to the user
