Issue/Introduction

After experiencing issues with OM Web Viewer 12.1 after an IPL of the system, we need to know in what order tasks should be restarted. We may have accidentally started some tasks twice.

Environment

• Output Management Web Viewer 12.1
• Event Notification Facility (CAIENF)
• Common Components and Services for z/OS 15.0 CCITCP/CCISSL
• Apache Tomcat®
• IBM WebSphere Application Server
• DRAS

 

Cause

Bringing tasks up in an incorrect order causes problems. 

Resolution

The procedure/startup order should be:

 

CAIENF starts CCITCP
S CADRAS
S Web Viewer task  (Apache Tomcat® or IBM WebSphere Application Server)

DRAS can be started at any point after CCITCP/CCISSL independently of Apache Tomcat®   However, that does depend whether you are using the CCS Apache Tomcat® task rather than one Broadcom supplied with the OM Web Viewer install.

 

ENF and CCI are normally handled with other common basic system applications.  DRAS cannot be accessed unless CCITCP is active.
