Issue/Introduction

Our environment consists of a Spectrum MLS then a BLS and integration of Performance Manager. While we have been troubleshooting issues with Spectrum it came to our attention that Performance Manager was not sending threshold violation alarms to Spectrum when the Spectrum System was in Failover.

Cause

When a primary landscape in Spectrum is down or failed over, the sync between Spectrum and CAPC stops and the event polling thread on OneClick stops grabbing events from CAPC.

Environment

Release : 10.4.1

Component : MITS SPECTRUM INTEGRATION

Resolution

Contact the Broadcom support and request the Spectrum_10.04.01.D46 patch for DX Spectrum 10.4.1 release.

Spectrum should pull Threshold Events from CAPC when Primary SS fails over to Secondary

IMPORTANT: If the Spectrum_10.04.01.BMP_10.4.101b patch is already applied, you must apply Spectrum_10.04.01.PTF_10.4.132 patch instead applying D46 mentioned above.

This also delivered in DX NetOps Spectrum 10.4.2.1 (aka 20.2.3) release.

Event Handling in FT Scenario
From the current release, when DX NetOps Spectrum is set up in FT mode, and the primary host fails, DX NetOps Spectrum runs on the secondary host. In such a situation only events are pulled from DX Performance Management to DX NetOps Spectrum. However, inventory sync is not supported.
