"SPC-OCC-10267: An unexpected error occurred: java.land.NullPointerException" when logging into OneClick

Issue/Introduction

Some users were seeing the following error while trying to login to OneClick:

 

Environment

Release : 10.3

Component : Spectrum Core / SpectroSERVER

Cause

The SSORB Security SP debug showed the following connection timeout exception while trying to login to the OneClick server:

ul 12, 2020 09:59:46.734 (https-jsse-nio-8443-exec-6) (SecuritySP) -   Getting user by search: sAMAccountName=XXXXXX
Jul 12, 2020 09:59:46.735 - Connection timed out: javax.naming.CommunicationException [Root exception is java.net.SocketException: Connection reset]; remaining name 'DC=xxxx,DC=xcxxxDC=xxx'

The connection to the LDAP server was timing out. 

Resolution

Increasing the "Connection timeout" in the OneClick LDAP Configuration page resolved the connection timeout exception and the users were able to login to OneClick.
