Issue/Introduction

After applying CICS RSU1912 maintenance DADS Plus batch jobs fail with message DADSA559 OPEN FAILED (FDBK='045')

For example the following messages will appear in the CICS log. 

DADSA559 23:44:14 CICSA04  TERM=X961     'FILE'='VRUACCT ' OPEN FAILED (FDBK='045').                          

DADSA559 23:49:20 CICSA04  TERM=X959     'FILE'='ACMSTRIP' OPEN FAILED (FDBK='045').                          

DADSA559 23:49:31 CICSA04  TERM=X959     'FILE'='ACMSTRIP' OPEN FAILED (FDBK='045').                          

This problem surfaced after the IBM 9912  maintenance was implemented in the CICS regions.

Cause

This problem surfaced after CICS RSU1912 maintenance was implemented.

CICS maintenance fix PH13588  which is included in the RSU1912 maintenance caused the problem.

PH13588: VSAM RLS TO PRESERVE QUIESCED STATE OF DATASET

Resolution

IBM Test fix  PH26064 resolved the problem.
