Spectrum Event Procedure getting overwritten

After manually editing the $SPECROOT/custom/Events/EventDisp file for an Event Procedure, checking the file later shows the Event Procedure is no longer there.

The user had opened the Event Configuration editor and was open prior to editing the $SPECROOT/custom/Events/EventDisp file.

Then, made some changes in the Event Configuration editor and saved the changes.

When the Event Configuration editor is opened, it reads the current information in the EventDisp files. If you modify an entry and save, it will rewrite the file with this information.

Since the Event Configuration editor was launched before the manual changes to the $SPECROOT/custom/Events/EventDisp file, these modification are not in the Event Configuration cache and will be overwritten when the file is saved in the Event Configuration editor.

Release : Any

Component : Spectrum Events and Alarms

Do not do manual EventDisp and Event Configuration editor changes at the same time.

When doing manual EventDisp changes, wait until after the changes have been made before launching the Event Configuration editor.

When doing changes using the Event Configuration editor, do not do manual EventDisp changes until after all changes are made using the Event Configuration editor and saved. Then, shutdown the Event Configuration editor and make your manual changes.
