DSERIES- SERVER CA Workload Automation DE - System Agent (dSeries)

Issue/Introduction

Description:

The CA Workload Automation DE will spin tracelog files once they have reached a certain size; by default this size is 10 MB. Over time the logs directory will get a lot of files and so would require a cleaning or an archiving the logs. If the log files are not removed, the filesystem may be filled up resulting in server shutdown.

Solution:

The CA Workload Automation DE R11.3 comes with log cleaning utility. The script is located in:

<CA Workload Automation install dir>/bin/cleanup.sh (Linux/UNIX)
<CA Workload Automation install dir>\bin\cleanup.bat (Windows)

Users can run this script periodically to clean out the tracelog files.

Usage:

     cleanup.sh
Please enter the arguments <hostname> <port> <userid> <password> <number of days older files need to be deleted>

For example,

     cleanup.sh localhost 7500 ADMIN SOME_PASS 10

In the example, the script logs with Admin credentials into CAWA DE server which is running locally on port 7500.

It will delete all tracelog files older than 10 days. The script can also be ran in a Linux/UNIX or Windows job scheduled at CAWA DE.
