When running a Policy Server, how to monitor authentication and
authorization response times in order to evaluate performance of
Siteminder Policy Server ? Is there such a functionality ?
Policy Server 12.8SP3 on RedHat 7;
At first glance, Policy Server logs and traces are for debugging the
services and transactions.
In order to monitor the authentication and authorization response
times and other activities, there are 2 other tools :
- Oneview Monitor;
- SNMP pooling;
The OneView monitoring gives you instant statistics, at the time you
consult the stats (1)(2)(3). The SNMP pooling will help to get instant
monitoring as per OneView monitor, plus it allow to keep historical
data, and depending the tool you use to get the SNMP data, you can
build graphs on the current and historical data (4)(5).
