CA Virtual Privilege Manager CA Privileged Identity Management Endpoint (PIM)

Issue/Introduction

Is the new PIM installation file that can be installed in Red Hat Linux 3.10.0-1101.el7.x86_64 kernel version released?

Environment

Release : 12.8

Component : CA ControlMinder

Resolution

As per the CA Privileged Identity Manager Endpoint Platform Classification and SLA Guidelines, we do not test every kernel version that comes out:

https://techdocs.broadcom.com/us/product-content/status/supported-platforms/ca-privileged-identity-manager-endpoint-platform-classification-and-sla-guidelines.html

In summary, you can try installing the product against a newer kernel. If it does now work, log a case with us and we will endeavor to support the new kernel within the guidelines specified in the document above.

In practice, newer linux kernels - particularly on RHEL - are supported much more quickly than the guidelines once a customer has logged a case with us.
