Issue/Introduction

Is it possible to use the service name to monitor a single instance of Oracle DB instead of the SID? When we use the service name for the "introscope.agent.dbmonitor.oracle.profiles.db1.instanceName" we are getting "ORA-12505, TNS:listener does not currently know of SID given in connect descriptor". SID is not used in the environment for establishing any connections from applications. 

Environment

CA Application Performance Management 20.2

Oracle Database Agent extension 11.1.4.22

Cause

Per the Guide, must use Oracle DB instance in order to monitor the application, it is hard coded.

Resolution

Can have multiples profiles and use the same agent to monitor more than one instance, create profiles for each instances when downloading the agent.
