Issue/Introduction

The network interface is added from vmware management UI, but after reboot the vm, on the Gateway menu, it doesn't show the new network interface

When run the "ifconfig" command, it doesn't show the new network interface.

When run command, "service network restart"

it shows error for the new network interface,

“Device eth2 does not seem to be present, delaying initialization”

Environment

Release : 9.3

Component : API GATEWAY

Resolution

1. remove(backup) the 70-persistent-net.rules file

mv /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules /tmp/

2. reboot

After reboot, the new, correct 70-persistent-net.rules is regenerated, and the new network interface is up without problem.
