PDFs encrypted with Symantec File Share Encryption appear to be corrupted with Sophos antivirus installed

Issue/Introduction

PDF files can no longer be opened after encrypting them with Symantec File Share Encryption if Sophos antivirus is installed.

Environment

Release : Symantec Encryption Desktop 10.4.2 MP5

Component : File Share Encryption

Sophos core agent 2.7.8

Resolution

Symantec Enterprise Division is aware of the issue and currently reviewing this issue.  If you are encountering this issue, please contact Symantec Enterprise Division Support.

As a workaround, copy the PDFs to the local machine to access the files.
