Issue/Introduction

We have three identity portal nodes in our environment and a F5 load balancer as the front end to load balance the requests to the portal. We recently noticed a issue that when accessing via the load balancer URL, portal login page is not loaded correctly (just the loading icon keeps spinning and the actual login form never show). Please note that the login page can be displayed properly when accessing directly using the server URL.

Environment

Release : 14.3

Component : CA IDENTITY SUITE (VIRTUAL APPLIANCE)

Resolution

we also spent sometime troubleshooting with the F5 team, and we just identified there's a rule setup on F5 side that's causing some incorrect HTTP re-direction which we believe should be the root cause of this issue. After we disable the rule, the identity portal web console login is working.

Regarding the link you sent for session affinity, I have reviewed it already last week, previously we have already configured source address persistence on the F5 load balancer so I believe session affinity shouldn't be a problem.
