Issue/Introduction

We just upgraded XCOM for Windows. Certain special characters are getting translated incorrectly when sending files from the mainframe.
The previous version on Windows translated them to : and # characters.

Is there some form of translate table or something that affects these?

Environment

  • XCOM™ Data Transport® for z/OS
  • XCOM™ Data Transport® for Windows

Cause

The old etoa.tab and atoe.tab tables had not been brought over to the new server.

Resolution

Yes, you can have custom translation tables on Windows.

  1. Check on the previous server for customized tables and copy them over.
  2. Make sure you have
INTERNAL_CONVERSION_TABLES set to NO. in xcom.glb
  3. Recycle xcomd.
