Resolution

Check the key length of the VSAM file by running IDCAMS LISTC and compare it with the length of WS-KEY in the CA Easytrieve source.
CA Easytrieve release 11 is much tighter on checking the syntax than previous releases.
The length of the POINT search field, WS-KEY in this example, must have the same length as the file's key displayed by LISTC.
