Download tasks on LiveUpdate Administrator 2.x (LUA 2.x) servers which had been successfully downloading and processing updates began to fail on or around June 26, 2020.
The LUA 2.x server may generate an alert similar to "The download request failed to commit to database."
In the lua-application log files, there are errors similar to:
2020-06-26 15:12:14,634 [pool-2-thread-4] INFO common.ContentRepository - ************LUA_DOWNLOAD_COPY_UPDATES_TO_CONTENT_REPOSITORY_START************
2020-06-26 15:12:14,650 [pool-2-thread-4] INFO common.ContentRepository - File already present in CR: 1592926326jtun_edrdefs.7z ; skipping tranfer from TEMP folder
2020-06-26 15:12:14,775 [pool-2-thread-4] ERROR contentcatalog.DAOProductUpdate - Unknown exception while commit index info
org.hibernate.NonUniqueObjectException: A different object with the same identifier value was already associated with the session : [com.symantec.lua.mdl.contentcatalog.ContentPackage#1227]
This issue has now been resolved. LiveUpdate Administrator 2.x has been confirmed to correctly download, process and distribute the content updates currently available from Internet source servers.
If [Client - Endpoint Detection and Response] and [Client - Endpoint Detection and Response Rollback] have been unchecked as a workaround, you can now re-enable those.
