Issue/Introduction

Portuguese language has some special characters (ç, á, é, ó, ã, etc...). If the alarm has a custom message configured in Portuguese language, you can see it being displayed with strange characters:

Environment

Release : 9.2.0

Component : UIM LOGMON

Resolution

The solution consists on 2 steps:

1- In the primary hub, using IM console, right click on alarm_enrichment probe, then click on "edit" option.

In the "arguments" section, remove any reference to UTF-8 (if available), and ensure that only the following argument still remains:

-jar ../lib/alarm_enrichment.jar

2- In the logmon setup screen, at "general" tab, configure the output encoding to "ISO-8859-1":

After doing that, you should see the Portuguese characters being displayed correctly in the alarms.
