Issue/Introduction

We have an issue where if we rename a robot, the hub will send "robot inactive" alarms.
Now, in our situation, the robots get renamed from an all-lowercase name to an all-uppercase name or vice-versa (due to our automated robot installation).

We consider this a defect in the hub.
Here's why:
- the UIM NiS database is case-insensitive, meaning that in the discovery_server / CM-tables, there is only one record for the robot, regardless whether the name is upper- or lowercase.
- MCS continues working for the device because, again, it is using the CM-tables in the database and considers a "rename in case" not an issue.

From our understanding, the robot keeps its robot_device_id.  As a result, we don't understand why the hub doesn't just accept the new name since the unique identifier has not changed.

hub version: 9.20HF6

Environment

Release : 9.2.0

Component : UIM - HUB

Resolution

this is resolved with hub 920-HF16 and secure hub 920-HF16
