VM:Secure for z/VM

Issue/Introduction

A sample profile gets copied to a new 191 via a ADDM or ADDE command.
Where does this sample reside and what is it called?

May I change this sample and if so will it be 'kept around' even after an upgrade?

Then I would like to have multiple samples - maybe 1 per skeleton.
EG a sample for regular CMS users and another for linux servers.

Can this be done?

Environment

Release : 3.2

Component : CA VM:Secure for z/VM

Resolution

Yes, you can accomplish both and here are the instructions for doing so, as documented in the VM:Secure Administrator's Guide:

Generating PROFILE EXEC for New Directory Entry

Additional Information

If the skeleton file or directory entry includes the definition of a 191 minidisk, VM:Secure may also create the PROFILE EXEC file for your new directory entry, depending on the state of your system.

If the skeleton file or directory entry includes a *ENROLL special comment with the IPLstmt option, VM:Secure may also create the PROFILE EXEC file for your new user ID, depending on the state of your system.

See VM:Secure documentation for more.
