Issue/Introduction

Getting Message " SAP-Self-Monitoring Failures for 'xx.xx.xx.xx:Oracle.Backup "

Environment

Any supported UIM version 
SAP_BASIS 2.06

Resolution

Disable or reduce the severity of the Self-Monitoring alarms generated by the sap_basis probe from the probe's Raw Configure GUI as follows:

1. To disable Self-monitoring alarms: Add this key value to the setup section of the sap_basis.cfg file:

enable_self_monitoring_alarm = false

2. To set severity: Add this key value to the setup section of the sap_basis.cfg file: 

self_monitoring_alarm_severity= 1

Set the value to the desired severity number (5-Critical, 4-Major, 3-Minor, 2-Warning, 1-Informational).  The default severity is 4.
