Issue/Introduction

APM and Spectrum have been integrated using SNMP traps

Problem - from one alert, multiple alarms are raised in Spectrum, even metrics that are not above threshold.

For example 1 metric grouping contains 3 related metrics.

Both SMTP and SNMP action are associated to the alert.

This alert does not notify on individual metrics to only send one alert email with the details. 
The email action is triggered and notified as expected, meaning one email for the specific alert that notes the 2 out of 3 components that have violated the threshold.

In Spectrum there is a problem in that there are multiple alarms created for all metrics in the metric group, even if those that do not pass the threshold.

Notify by individual metric is not selected as this generates too many emails, only a summary email is required

Resolution

There has been code investigation and fix prepared in DE455599 for APM 10.7

A workaround could be achieved but requires configuring two separate alerts - one with notify by individual metric enabled for sending SNMP trap to Spectrum, and another alert with notify by individual metric disabled and associated to the SMTP alert action to send summary emails.
