ENQGDGBYY does not work after maintenance PTFs

Issue/Introduction

ENQGDGBYY is used to bypass ENQ for GDG base during ARCHIVE of DSNTYPE=LARGE Generation data sets.

After DISK maintenance PTFs the ENQ for the GDG base is no longer bypassed with SYSPARM ENQGDGBY set to Y.

 

Environment

Release : Disk Backup and Restore 12.5

Cause

With PTF SO07293 applied DFDSS performs serialization if used as data mover and thus ENQGDGBYY does not prevent the ENQ on the GDG Base.

Resolution

Remove LARGE from USEDSSIO to use the DISK data mover instead to prevent the ENQ on the GDG BASE with ENQGDGBYY.
