logmon probe files in hdb probe folder

Issue/Introduction

The hdb probe folder contains a number of files related to logmon of the format:

<Servername>_FileScan_<LogmonProfileName>.db

 

 

Is there a procedure to delete or resize these files?

Resolution

The files are related to profiles that have been defined in the logmon probe.

 

Logmon uses the files to maintain checkpoints for profiles so it can keep a track of where scanning had reached in the last interval

and where it needs to continue from in the next interval.

 

Check the logmon probe for any inactive profiles or profiles that are no longer needed. Files under the hdb folder that relate to those profiles can then be deleted if required after backing up first.

 

The files cannot be resized.
