DB01909E and DB01911E errors on the MUF SYSIN card

Issue/Introduction

The Datacom Multi-User (MUF) region fails to start because of the following error messages:

DB01900I - MUF mufname,99,YES DB01909E - * - ASTERISK POINTS NEAR ERROR

DB01911E - PARAMETER HAS INVALID VALUE

The following error is also returned:

  DB00216E - ERROR IN SYSIN/SYSIPT DATA.

 

 

Environment

CA Datacom for z/OS versions 14.0 ,15.0 and 15.1

Cause

These messages are returned when the "mufname" specified in the above MUF card is not an asterisk (*) and doesn't match any of the MUF logical names specified in TARGET_MUF_LIST parameter of the DBSYSID macro (DBSIDPR module).

Resolution

Use * as MUF logical name or  change the name in DBSIDPR TARGET_MUF_LIST=(name,...)
